Borders[edit]

Minbu District is bounded to the south by Thayet District, to the east by Magway District, to the north by Pakokku District and Gangaw District, to the northwest by Mindat District of Chin State, and to the west by Sittwe District of Rakhine State and Kyaukpyu District of Rakhine State.

Minbu Township (Burmese: မင်းဘူး မြို့နယ်) is a township of Minbu District in the Magway Region of Myanmar. The principal town is Minbu.

The township is home to the Shwe Settaw Pagoda, which holds an annual pagoda festival from the fifth waning day of Tabodwe to the Burmese New Year, attracting 100,000 pilgrims nationwide.
