 นายพูลพิพัฒน์ ตันธนสิน ประธานคณะกรรมการบริหาร และกรรมการผู้จัดการ บริษัท คิวทีซี เอนเนอร์ยี่ จำกัด (มหาชน)หรือ  “QTC” เปิดเผยว่า  คณะกรรมการบริษัท QTCGP ได้อนุมัติให้บริษัทลงนามในสัญญา MOA (Memorandum of Agreement) ของโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ ที่เมืองมินบู (Minbu) ประเทศเมียนมา พร้อมอนุมัติให้วางเงินมัดจำจำนวน 2.25 ล้านเหรียญดอลล่าร์สหรัฐ ( หรือ 80 ล้านบาท) เพื่อศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ของโครงการตามข้อตกลงของสัญญา MOA โดยมีเงื่อนไขว่าหากผลการศึกษาของโครงการไม่เป็นไปตามที่บริษัท QTC กำหนดและบริษัท QTC ตัดสินใจที่จะไม่ลงทุนในโครงการดังกล่าวแล้ว คู่สัญญาจะต้องคืนเงินมัดจำจำนวนดังกล่าวให้แก่ QTCGP ตามข้อตกลงของสัญญา MOA และในส่วนของเงินอีกจำนวน 50 ล้านบาท ทางบริษัทจะนำไปใช้ในการศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ของโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลัง งานแสงอาทิตย์ที่เมืองมินบู (Minbu) ประเทศเมียนมา และโครงการโรงงาน ไฟฟ้าพลังน้ำ 4 แห่งที่ประเทศลาว ตลอดจนค่าใช้จ่ายอื่นๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง

โดยแหล่งที่มาของเงินทุนมาจากการเพิ่มทุนจดทะเบียนของ QTCGP หลังจาก คณะกรรมการบริษัท QTC ได้พิจารณาและอนุมัติให้เพิ่มทุนจดทะเบียน บริษัท คิวทีซี โกลบอล เพาเวอร์ (“QTCGP”) อีกจำนวน 130 ล้านบาท (จากเดิม 10 ล้านบาท เพิ่มเป็น 140 ล้านบาท) เมือวันที่ 30 พฤษจิกายน 2559 โดยบริษัท QTC จะซื้อหุ้นเพิ่มทุนทั้งหมดเพื่อให้ QTCGP นำเงินจากการเพิ่มทุนนี้นำไปใช้ทำการศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ของโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ที่เมืองมินบู (Minbu) ประเทศเมียนมา พร้อมวางเงินมัดจำดังกล่าวข้างต้น

Minbu District is bounded to the south by Thayet District, to the east by Magway District, to the north by Pakokku District and Gangaw District, to the northwest by Mindat District of Chin State, and to the west by Sittwe District of Rakhine State and Kyaukpyu District of Rakhine State.
